- Your favorite apple, washed and cored (recommended: Cortland)
- Brown sugar
- Butter or margarine
- Poke holes in the skin of the apple to allow for the steam to escape while cooking. Place the apple in a microwave-safe bowl. Sprinkle around and inside the apple with a few teaspoons of brown sugar and a pinch of cinnamon. Top the apple with a small sliver of butter or margarine. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and microwave for 2 minutes.
